On behalf of the family and our wider school community, we share the heartbreaking news of the sudden and tragic passing of Kimberley Ashcroft over the weekend. A devoted mother to Paris and Quinn, a cherished aunty to Levi, Hudson, Wolf, and Adam, and a deeply valued member of our kura, Kimberley’s loss is being felt profoundly by all who knew her.

Kimberley was more than a parent within our school—she was a constant presence, a source of encouragement, and a pillar of support for many students. Whether in the classroom, on the sidelines of the netball court, or at school events, she gave her time generously and uplifted those around her with warmth and care. Her commitment to her children and to the broader school whānau reflected a spirit of kindness and dedication that will not be forgotten.

This sudden loss has come as a great shock to Kimberley’s family and to our entire Newbury School community. In this time of deep grief, we know many will want to reach out with love and support. We kindly ask that everyone respects the family’s need for space and privacy as they navigate this incredibly difficult period.

Dear Kimberley, kua whetūrangitia koe—you have become a star, joining your ancestors in the sky. We take comfort in the belief that you will continue to watch over your loved ones, guiding them with strength and love. As a community, we stand together in our commitment to care for Paris, Quinn, Adam, and the entire whānau you held so dear.

Funeral details will be shared in due course. Until then, may we hold our loved ones close, offer kindness freely, and keep Kimberley’s family in our thoughts and prayers.
